Georges de Feure
Settee, ca. 1900
Gilded birch
h. 38 1/2 in. (98 cm) - w. 45 2/3 in. (116 cm) - d. 20 7/8 in. (53 cm)
The piece is un marked, how ever two separate hand-written notes were discovered within the structure, written by the last two upholsterers to have worked on it. The first, now lost, was probably written in the late XXth century, and seemed to originate in Central Europe. The second was written in 2004 by an upholsterer based in Essex, UK, in reaction to his discovery of the first note.
