Provenance
Me Couturier Nicolay, Hôtel Drouot, Paris, 13th November 1974, lot 15 - French private collection - Limoges Enchères, 19th May 2020, lot 158.
Exhibitions
Probably presented at the Exposition de l’Union Centrale des Arts Décoratifs (UCAD), Paris, 1887 - Almost certainly shown at the 1889 Exposition Universelle in Paris. Both MAD and V&A vases (2496 and 2499) were acquired in 1889 during the Paris World Fair which strongly substantiates the presence of our vase (2498) as well.
